Are you a sunset lover? Ever watched sunsets in the wild? Wait, ever been to the wild? If your answer is yes to both questions, then you understand the feelings that engulf you then. If it is a ‘NO’, I actually have no words to describe you to get out there. Maybe the photos will help, but I cannot explain the feeling you get.
I have been to several sunset destinations, some of the best in Kenya I reckon: Ngong Hills, Rift Valley View point, Lake Naivasha, Kisumu and Masai Mara. I do not think there is a place that can boast of a more picturesque sunset than these sites, but if you think there is, please share.
The sunset over Ngong Hills and R/V viewpoint are similar. You are on a high ground, watching the sun get sucked into the ground in the horizon. You watch as parts of the lower grounds get darker as the sun goes deeper ‘into the ground’. This is perfect for an evening picnic, such as the one @ loves (Read Mount Kasigau – Seek And Ye Shall Find http://wp.me/p4pZhe-eg ). Just sit and wait on the night! Drawing artists and photographers would love this.
Lake Naivasha and Kisumu sunset sights are almost similar. However, I think the one in Kisumu is more ‘inspirational’. You could write a book, scratch that, you could write a best-seller just by being there. Hahaha! It’s so magical. Lake Naivasha is awesome due to the fact that there are birds flying around, rushing to their homes as the sun sets. Their chirps, and the lazy walks of flamingos as they walk in the water without a worry in the world makes the sunset there magical. If that Kisumu sunset would inspire you write a best-seller, then the one at Lake Naivasha would give you a great children’s story book.
There are those sunsets from places I have mentioned above, and then there is that at Masai Mara, THE MARA!! Let’s put it this way, Sidney Sheldon would come for inspiration after you release your first novel you wrote while over at the Mara. This is in the big league of sunsets!! Even Richard Branson could not resist having a place to rest over here. The endless plains , the tall grass, the scarce trees and the animals around are what makes the sunset so awesome. So serene! Just Magical.
